Neymar: It’s an honour to be playing alongside Suarez

Brazilian and Barcelona forward Neymar believes that ita s only a matter of time before team-mate Luis Suarez starts to find the back of the net with the Catalans.

After having a stunning season at Liverpool, the Uruguayan had made a big money move to Barcelona. The 27 year-old was banned and wasna t allowed to participate in several games at the start of the season. Since returning from the ban, Suarez has only managed to score a total of two goals in 11 league games that he has played for the club.

In the Catalansa 6-0 win over Elche on Saturday, the Uruguayan was dropped while Lionel Messi and Neymar connected brilliantly up top.

Asked if he could help Suarez with his problems, the Brazilian told Goal.com, a Am I giving advice to Suarez? He’s older and more experienced than I am. It is Suarez who should give advice to me…,a

a Anyway, Luis helps the team with his goals, with passes, with everything. It is an honour to be playing in the same team as him.a

While Suarez hasna t performed quite up to expectations, both Neymar and Lionel Messi have been in fine form this season, drawing praise from club president Josep Bartomeu. Bartomeu has lauded the teama s attacking play, calling it, a The most feared forward line in the worlda .

Neymar, however, remained noncommittal and coy on the subject.

‘Are we the best attacking trident in the world? I don’t know,’ he said. ‘But we do seem to be causing a lot of problems for opposing defences.’

The Brazilian has scored 19 goals in 24 appearance in all competitions this season.

In the past, coach Luis Enrique had himself made the same claim. Enrique, who also joined Barca this year, had said that he observed Suareza contribution off the ball and his hard work in running back and retrieving it.

a This is something that all forwards go through,a he said.

a It seems it’s just not happening for him but he brings a lot to the team,a added the former Spain midfielder.

a It’s about adaptation, there is no magic formula. He is integrated perfectly into the team and we are not worried.

a If I was worried I would tell you, but I am not. Would I like my strikers to score more goals? Of course!a

After defeating Atletico by a goal to nil in the first leg of the Copa del Rey quarterfinal at the Camp Nou, Barca now travel to Madrid, hoping to cement that spot in the semi-final.
