Mourinho Warns Critics: ‘I Am Fantastic Even When Chelsea FC Lose’

Chelsea FC manager Jose Mourinho was back to his cocky best last night following the 4-0 win over Maccabi Tel-Aviv in the Blues’ opening game of the UEFA Champions League.

Chelsea FC have not endured the best of starts to the new campaign, with manager Jose Mourinho looking uncharacteristically subdued in his press conference — at least by his standards.

However, ‘The Special One’ was back to his best last night, claiming that he remains a fantastic manager even when his side loses games.

Mourinho blasts knee jerk analysis, says he is still fantastic when Chelsea FC lose

Mourinho had fiercely defended his record ahead of the game, blasting a journalist for asking ‘stupid questions’ and demanding he use Google to look up the answers himself. Warning his critics against knee-jerk reactions, the Portuguese was quoted as saying by Sky Sports:

“Wayne Rooney was a disaster, then he beats the record with England and he’s suddenly the best player in the history of English football. Rooney is a fantastic player when he’s not scoring goals or when he is.

.

“I am a fantastic manager when I’m not winning matches and I’m a fantastic manager when I am.

“You like ‘up and down’, but it’s not like that. The pundits get big money not to say easy things. They have to be geniuses in their analysis or they don’t deserve the money they get.”

Mourinho looking forward to Arsenal FC game

Having finally won a game after two successive defeats, Mourinho is now looking forward to avenge the Community Shield loss to long-term adversary Arsene Wenger.

Chelsea FC play Arsenal FC in their next game in the Premier League at the weekend.

He said: “For all of us to have woken up again after a defeat and two days before a London derby against Arsenal, I could imagine how it would feel.”
