While the entire Chelsea team have played brilliantly this season, Eden Hazard is the one player who adds the X-factor to the team. The Belgian has come up with wonder strikes in tough situations, pulling his team out of the dumps.

It is, hence, hardly surprising that the Belgian is tipped to become the highest paid player at the club with a new long term deal that he is likely to sign.

Things, however, can change in a matter of seconds in football and because he has not signed that extension yet, there is a certain anxiety among the fans.

Yet, his manager, Jose Mourinho doesna t share that same anxiety. In fact, the special one believes that his star player is certain to sign a contract. In the Portuguesea s opinion, the only thing stopping him is the absence of a piece of equipment, apparently.

a I am buying a nice pen,a joked the Portuguese.

a I need a bit of time to go to Sloane Street and buy a proper pen. I just need time to buy the pen and after that I think there is not a long time to go!a

Hazard has been in excellent form for Chelsea this season, scoring nine goals and bagging five assists in 24 Premier League appearances, while he has also struck twice in the Champions League.

Hazard does need to be tied down, as he has been one of the Premier Leaguea s star performers this season, with nine goals and five assists. The Belgian also got two goals in the Champions League, further boosting that goal tally.

Back in December, when Mourinho was asked about Hazarda s contract extension, he seemed quite confident that the Belgian would sign.

a He will, he will. I was never worried about, since the moment I met his father. Everything was very clear about their intentions, and their happiness to stay at Chelsea.a

a After that, it becomes a numbers situation. When it becomes a number situation I’m more than happy to be [left] out, but the club always told me that the situation would finish with a new contract. So I was never worried about that.a
