Exactly like his rebellious self, Jose Mourinho once again caught the eye of perhaps everybody involved with football, by his antics. The former Real Madrid manager, stormed out of media interaction, ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Newcastle United. Apparently, Mourinho has taken a vow of silence after being charged by the FA. The charge came after Mourinho’s ‘hidden campaign’ rant. After Chelsea’s fixture with Southampton, Mourinho expressed his disgust with the refereeing body and claimed scandal. The FA have not allowed this to go by unpunished and have charged Mourinho with misconduct.
Hence, on Mourinhoa s latest charge, an FA statement read: a It is alleged his remarks constitute improper conduct in that they allege and/or imply bias on the part of a referee or referees and/or bring the game into disrepute.a
The statement added: a The FA has also reviewed pre-match comments made by Mr Mourinho on December 19 2014 prior to Chelseaa s game against Stoke City and, having sought his observations on this matter, decided not to bring a disciplinary charge and instead issued him with a formal warning.
a The FA prohibit participants from making any pre-match media comments including comments of a positive nature concerning the appointed match officials for a particular fixture.
a Whether the official is identifiable by name or by implication, these are deemed to amount to improper conduct in breach of FA Rule E3.a
An FA spokesman said: a It is alleged his remarks constitute improper conduct in that they allege and/or imply bias on the part of a referee or referees and/or bring the game into disrepute.a
Mourinho, has until 6pm on January 13th to respond to the FA charge and can appeal for a personal hearing. The Chelsea manager, however, avoided a barrage of questions as he decided to bail out of Chelsea’s pre match press conference against Newcastle United.
Other than his charge, Mourinho has also been issued with a formal warning for calling on referee Neil Swarbrick to produce a strong performance in the game against Stoke City on December 22.
Apparently, this is not the first time that Mourinho has been charge with such misconduct. Mourinho, was charged A?26,000 by the FA for three separate incidents, last season.
While Mourinho fights against the world, Chelsea take on Newcastle United. The Blues would be out for revenge as Newcastle United, ended Chelsea’s 14 match unbeaten streak in the Premier League.
