Inter Manager Roberto Mancini believes Mateo Kovacic will stay, despite the Italian media constantly linking the Croatian with a move to Liverpool FC

Mateo Kovacic had emerged as a serious target for Brendan Rodgers if Italian media are to be believed with reports stating as far as that the personal terms between the player and Liverpool FC had been agreed, too.

However, Roberto Mancini has poured cold waters on the rumors, firmly stating that Mateo Kovacic is seen as the future star of the Serie A team.

a Hea ll become a champion,a Mancini predicted, when asked about Mateo Kovacic on Sky Italia.

a Of course, hea s still lacking some things, but hea s improved a lot, and I think thata s showed.”

a At the moment therea s nothing, I think hea ll stay. I dona t think wea ll sell our top players, I dona t think thata s a risk.a

The Croatian media were earlier reporting of an agreement between the player and Liverpool FC had been reached with clubs yet to agree a fee despite a 21 million Euro offer by Liverpool.

The report said that Inter were looking for a fee closer to the 25 million Euro mark having refused a similar bid from FC Barcelona last summer.

.

As it now emerges, it just looks like rumors, and nothing more.

Mateo Kovacic had signed for Inter Milan in January 2013 from Dinamo Zagreb for 11 million Euros and since then, has gone onto show that why was he such highly regarded back in his homeland when the Milan club came calling.
