Manuel Pellegrini Says That He Would Like To See Pep Guardiola Managing Manchester City

Rumours are flying everywhere about Pep Guardiola’s future, but Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini seems to be unfazed by it all, as he suggested that he would in fact like to see the Catalan at the helm of the Sky Blues.

Bayern Munich announced on Sunday that Carlo Ancelotti would be taking over from Guardiola as the new manager next season at the Allianz Arena. This has caused speculations about Guardiola’s career.

.

Manchester City have been rumoured to have gotten the signature of Guardiola, putting Pellegrini’s position in doubt.

“I hope he will have the option to work at Manchester City,” Pellegrini was quoted saying to the Daily Mirror. a I say that because I love this club and I hope, in the future, he can work here also. I am sure that he will be very important for the club.

a I am sure that the important managers always want to work here in the Premier League,” he continued. “It is impossible not to want to work here a especially if you have experience of working in other leagues. So, Pep Guardiola will work here. I dona t know if it will be next season here at City, or even at another club, but I am sure that one day he will come to the Premier League.”

Short nature of Pellegrini’s contract makes Guardiola move imminent

Pellegrini has just 18 months left on his current contract with Manchester City. Since he has a relatively short period of time left at the club, the Sky Blues might be tempted to go for Guardiola. Whether they terminate Pellegrini’s contract with a year still to go, or whether they wait for his term to run its course before bringing in the Catalan, it would be quite a cheap option for Manchester City.
