Reports in the British media suggest that the Manchester United assistant manager is being considered for the vacant managerial hot-seat at the Liberty Stadium following the departure of Garry Monk
Garry Monk became the fourth managerial casualty of the 2015-2016 Premier League earlier this week — following Dick Advocaat, Tim Sherwood and Brendan Rodgers — after his side fell to a 3-0 defeat at home to league leaders Leicester City.
Swansea City currently lie in 15th place in the Premier League, having failed to win in their last five Premier League games, and winning just one in their last ten. Although the club initially saw fit to give Monk time to turn things around, the sustained period of bad form and performances seems to have forced their hand.
Among several names being floated about to take over at the Liberty Stadium, former Wales international Ryan Giggs is also being considered, according to an exclusive report in the Independent by Mark Ogden.
Club chairman Huw Jenkins is believed to favour young coaches who place an emphasis on attacking football, and as such, the Manchester United assistant manager would be an option worth considering, despite his lack of experience.
The report claims that persuading Giggs to leave Manchester United would be a challenge, but the idea of getting managerial experience under his belt to possibly prepare for a future job at Old Trafford could be appealing to the Welshman.

Ryan Giggs is unlikely to get better opportunities than the Swansea role, if indeed he is approached by the Welsh club. The season’s expectations have already been lowered by the Swans’ league position, and there is very little risk in the former Manchester United winger accepting a short-term role.
With former team-mate Gary Neville entering management with La Liga side Valencia, there is already talk that he could be ahead of Giggs in terms of one day being considered for the top job at Manchester United. Giggs has the opportunity to challenge that idea by entering the arena himself. Doing so with a well-run club like Swansea will only work to his advantage and the club could the ideal platform for him to prove that he has what it takes to be a manager at the top level.
