Manchester United Have Not Contacted The Special One, Says Jose Mourinho’s Agent

Jose Mourinho is not in contact with the the bosses at Old Trafford, and contrary to what social media claims, is not close to joining Manchester United, says the sacked Chelsea FC manager’s agent Jorge Mendes.

.

Twitter went berserk on Tuesday night, as a number of tweets claimed that Louis van Gaal has been sacked by Manchester United, and are close to signing Mourinho. While the first rumour turned out to be false, Jose Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes has proceeded to label the latter as untrue as well.

“There is nothing. We don’t know what will happen in the future, but now there is no agreement,” said Mendes to Brazilian outlet Globoesporte. “There isn’t an official proposal either, that’s not true.”

Mendes is a well-known football agent who also represents Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo. While there has been a lot of noise about Mourinho wanting to join Manchester United — the club that he has always admired — it seems that the Red Devils have still not voiced their interest about the Portuguese manager.

Mourinho may not have to wait too long

Van Gaal has reportedly been given two more games to sort things out at Old Trafford, and it may not turn out to be a merry Christmas or a happy New Year’s Eve for the Dutchman, as his team are struggling to win matches at the moment.

Interestingly, the second of Manchester United’s two games is against Chelsea FC. If the rumours of Van Gaal’s two-game ultimatum are indeed true, it would be interesting to see whether the Chelsea FC players help their former manager get a job at one of their rival clubs.
