Manchester United beat Club Brugges 4-0 thanks to a wonderful hat-trick by Wayne Rooney. Following the win, the United fans took to twitter to hail their captain for his performance. However, the game also saw Javier Hernandez miss a penalty and Manchester United fans were not as kind to him as they were to Wayne Rooney.
Wayne Rooney’s form as a goalscorer had come under increased criticism owing to a lacklustre start to the new season, after being deployed in the number 9 role.
However, the forward turned in a performance of highest quality to score a hat-trick last night against Club Brugges.
2004 – Wayne Rooney has scored his first European hat-trick since his Man United debut against Fenerbahce in 2004. Renaissance.

Same cannot be said of Hernandez who came off the bench but failed to make any impact and also missed a penalty. Manchester United fans took to twitter to express their view on the duo. Manchester United fans hailed Rooney in the tweets below:
This is exactly wht Rooney needed. Such a confidence player. Has it been frustrating? Of course but carry this through to PL & he’ll be fine a Hayley B (@Hayles_101) August 26, 2015
Beautiful from Juan Mata and a really composed finish through the goalkeeper’s legs from Rooney. Confidence back!

Rooney looking happy as ever. Such a confidence player; he’s brutal when he’s on form. a Musa Okwonga (@Okwonga) August 26, 2015
It’s a daft life being a striker. You go through spells where nothing works, you score and all of a sudden it’s easy again @WayneRooney

I enjoyed how Hernandez gave an accusatory look to the penalty spot after falling over.

I know this game is all but over but HernA?ndez should stop trying to impersonate John Terry.

Special shoutout to Hernandez for playing so bad and helping convince LVG to sign a striker.
