Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is keen to sign a specialist right back this summer and he has now turned his attention towards Monaco right back Fabinho.
Fabinho has progressed a lot as footballer over the past two seasons with the French club. The Brazilian, who even made a first team appearance for Real Madrid during his time on loan to the Spanish club, was signed permanently by Monaco last month, after completing two impressive seasons on loan from Rio Ave. His progress hasna t gone unnoticed and Dunga has included him in the 23-man squad for the Copa America.
A lot of European clubs have been monitoring his development in France, including Arsenal and La Liga champions Barcelona. The Spanish club were initially reported to be eyeing a move for Fabinho as a long-term replacement for Dani Alves. While Arsenala s interest seemed to have cooled off since the progress of Hector Bellerin last season. But a new suitor has arrived for the right back and reports in France state that Manchester United have turned their attention towards the 21-year-old.
The English club, who are desperate to bolster their squad this summer following another trophy-less season, are in the market for a new right back. Louis van Gaal used Antonio Valencia as a wing back last season and although the Ecuadorian international did a decent job in that role, the Dutchman is keen to sign a specialist right back in this transfer window.
United have been linked with a host of right backs already, including Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne, PSGa s Gregory van der Wiel and Dani Alves of Barcelona. While Liverpool seem to be in the pole position to sign Clyne at the moment, Dani Alves is already 32-year-old. Fabinho will definitely be better option to consider than van der Wiel at the moment.
According the French media house L’Equipe, Manchester United are preparing a bid of a 14m for the Brazilian international. The Red Devils are also looking to use their relation with Fabinhoa s agent Jorge Mendes, to seal deal. Monaco are also willing to sell Fabinho, L’Equipe believes that the French club are willing to negotiate for the right price and a deal with United could be on the cards.
Football News France reports, a According to Ma Chaine Sport . journalist Nicolas Vilas, only a a Kondogbiaesquea offer from another club for Fabinho will prevent the player from joining the Red Devils this summera .
