Manchester United have made it a three-way battle for Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin as they have now joined Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in chase of the Frenchman.
Morgan Schneiderlin has been the stand-out performer of Southampton this season as the south coast side has surprised everybody by finishing the year 2014 in top four for the first time ever.
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are long term admirers of Morgan Schneiderlin and they were expected to battle for his signature in January. But it now appears that Manchester United also have entered the race to sign this box to box midfielder.
Manchester United signed Ander Herrera and Daley Blind in summer transfer window to add more depth to their midfield but they both are struggling with injuries in their debut season. Manchester United coach Louis van Gaal has used Michael Carrick smartly in the heart of his midfield so far but he wants a long term successor to the Englishman, who will turn 34 in the summer.

The Sunday Mirror claims that Manchester United are set to make it a three-way battle for Morgan Schneiderlin. The Southampton midfield player is wanted by both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal midfield have struggled badly this season and Arsene Wenger, who is scouting Morgan Schneiderlin since the World Cup in Brazil, thinks that the Frenchman could add a more steel to his squad and help him finish in top four.
North London rivals of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, are also in the market for a quality midfielder as coach Mauricio Pochettino has planned a complete overhaul of his squad in January transfer window. Tottenham Hotspur also tried to sign Morgan Schneiderlin in the summer but they failed in their attempts. However, they are certain to comeback with a bigger offer this month.
Morgan Schneiderlin is valued at around 27 million pounds by Southampton management and Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be ready to match the asking price of the player. However, the entry of Manchester United is expected to shoot up the price of Morgan Schneiderlin.
