Premier League giants Manchester United have agreed to a deal with Eredivisie league champions PSV Eindhoven to sign in their star Dutch forward Memphis Depay in the summer.
Initially dutch author Thijs Slegers reported that Manchester United were the frontrunners sign in the Netherlands international. He suggested on Twitter that Memphis Depay is on his way to join the Premier League side. Now the Dutch champions have tweeted the same news confirming that the deal has been officially completed.
It will be a huge boost for Louis van Gaal’s team who have faced problems in their attacking third as neither Radamel Falcao nor Robin van Persie lived up to expectations.
Memphis Depay has scored the most number of goals in this season in the Eredivisie league this season, 21. His stellar performance for the club helped them to bag their first title in many years.
The Dutch international was linked with several other clubs, most prominently with Manchester United’s arch rivals Liverpool, but Van Gaal has successfully encashed his Dutch connection to rope in the young charismatic forward.
