Manchester United have agreed personal terms with the Italian and Torino right back Matteo Darmian as per reports in Di Marzio.
Di Marzio reports that Manchester United have agreed personal terms with the Italian right back with negotiations taking place during the night.
According to Tuttosport, Matteo Darmian will sign a 4 year contract at Old Trafford worth A?48k after tax.
Manchester United had made an . initial bid of a 15 million to sign the Italian right back which was deemed to be too low by Torini who are looking for a 20 million for the player according to Di Marzio’s report.
Darmian featured in THT’s Italian Serie A Team of the Season and was widely acknowledged as the best full-back in Serie A last season
Darmian has been playing for Serie A side Torino since 2011 and has made over 130 appearances for the side since then. The Italian international can play is the central defense as well, having started his career as a centre back at A.C. Milan, making his Serie A debut at age 17.
Darmian is expected to replace the departing Rafael on the right side of defence but can also fill in at left back if need be.
But, Manchester United may have to fight off competition from two other clubs with with Torino president Urbano Cairo confirming he had received three bids for the 25 year old full back to Italian newspaper La Stampa.
Cairo did not to reveal the clubs that had made the offer for Darmian, but, did admit that the player wants to win the Champions League.
Darmian has been linked heavily in the Italian press with moves to Bayern Munich as well as AS Roma and Cairo has revealed in the interview to La Stampa that he will listen to offers for the player having promised to do so in exchange of him staying at the club, last year.
