Manchester United are preparing a bid for Galatasaray and Uruguay keeper Fernando Muslera, indicate reports.
David de Gea looks certain to be heading out this summer and even though there is a hold-up because of the Sergio Ramos situation, it remains highly probable that the player will be plying his trade with Los Blancos next season.
An alternative naturally needs to be found even though the club has former Barcelona player Victor Valdes within the ranks.
United have been liked with Jan Oblak, Samir Handanovic and Hugo Lloris and latest to join the group of likely replacements is Uruguay and Galatasaray keeper Fernando Muslera.
The Metro cites reports in Turkey . and say that a A?24.7m bid has gone in for his services.
The local media, however, describe the bid as a crazya and ita s likely to be enough to tempt Galatasaray into selling.
It seems slightly bizarre that such an amount will be spent for Muslera even though the 29 year-old is a capable goalkeeper who many say is coming into his prime, now.
Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris looks like the more likely target for Manchester United.
Former France manager Raymond Domenech, however, is of the opinion that Lloris shouldn’t go to Manchester United, which would be a sideways move for him.
“I have no decision to take for him, but in my opinion he has to play in Chelsea, Arsenal, or Manchester City, to play in the European Cup,a Domenech said
“Tottenham is a big club a it is not the biggest. Manchester United qualified for the Champions League, but I can’t really see the difference with Tottenham.
“For me, it’s Chelsea, Arsenal, or Manchester City. Because I think Manchester United is no more a big club, in England, for me. I think like that.
“I think Arsenal will be every time a big club, Chelsea also a City is becoming a big club a but I think United is with Tottenham, with the other clubs. Not one of the biggest clubs, so there’s no difference.
“For me, he’s a great goalkeeper so he needs to be in the best English club, or French, or Italian, or German.”
