.

Manchester City have received a huge boost ahead of their meeting against Liverpool FC, with star striker Sergio AgA?ero expected to return to the starting line-up after a six-week lay-off.

There was good news for Manchester City ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Liverpool FC, with Argentina superstar Sergio AgA?ero expected to return to the starting line-up, but captain Vincent Kompany has been ruled out of the fixture along with Spain international David Silva.

Ivory Coast striker Wilfried Bony has also been ruled out, while former Arsenal FC attacking midfielder Samir Nasri will not play any part in the Citizens’ fixtures for up to three months, after the Frenchman confirmed the bad news regarding his injury via his Instagram account, accompanied by a picture of himself with crutches.

Pellegrini confirms AgA?ero is fit to face Liverpool FC

The Chilean will be delighted to welcome his star striker back into the Manchester City starting XI, particularly with second-choice Wilfried Bony being ruled out of the fixture. AgA?ero suffered an injury while on international duty with Argentina at the beginning of October, and has since been unable to take part in any of City’s games leading up to the recently concluded international break.

Pellegrini is quoted by the Manchester City official website as saying: “Sergio is fit a hea s ready to come back.

“One of the merits of this team is not just to depend on one player but of course our team is better with Sergio.”

Kompany, Silva ruled out

Amongst others, captain Vincent Kompany has been ruled out, while David Silva continues to recover from an ankle problem and will not be risked against Liverpool FC on Saturday. City have enough cover for both however, with new signings NicolA?s Otamendi and Kevin De Bruyne expected to continue in the team at centre-back and in an attacking midfield role respectively.

“David continues with some small sprain in his ankle so ita s a risk for him to play,” Pellegrini said (via the club website). “Unfortunately also, Samir Nasri is injured. Bony and Vincent Kompany are also injured.”

Of those absentees, Samir Nasri will face the longest injury lay-off, with the Frenchman expected to be out of action until February 2016.
