Stevan Jovetic, who now plays for Internazionale on loan from Manchester City, has recently spoken about his time in the Serie A and claims that it is more difficult than the Premier League.
The Montenegrin forward first made a name for himself in Fiorentina, where he spent 5 years, before moving to Manchester City in 2013 for 22 million pounds. He spoke that moving to the Italian club was the right choice and his form for the club.
a Fiorentina in 2008? I knew I was going to a great team and I made a good decision,a Jovetic said, according to football-italia.net.
a I arrived in a beautiful city, with fans who welcomed me straight away. It wasna t easy to move from the Serbian league to the Italian one, the standard is higher. I struggled the first year despite playing 25 games, it got better in the second with five goals in the Champions League.
Serie A is tougher than the Premier League?
.
After failing to break into the Manchester City starting XI, the 26-year-old Montenegrin striker is presently on an 18 month loan back to the Serie A with Internazionale. Jovetic also spoke about his time at City and relationship with manager Manuel Pellegrini.
a City? I like the Premier League, ita s easier to play there than in Italy, where there is little space.”
a I had a normal relationship with Pellegrini, we never argued. It was just that I deserved to play more, I thought that then and I think that today too.”
The primary reason for Jovetic’s unhappiness at the club was the fact that he was not given enough playing time and he felt a move was necessary to further his career.
a When I was fit they didna t play me, when I scored I went off after a maximum of 60 minutes and ita s difficult to do more like this.”
