Manchester City Ready To Table A?25m Bid For Jack Wilshere

Manchester City are reportedly readying a bid to sign Jack Wilshere from Arsenal in the summer.

City have a history of signing Arsenal players with Samir Nasri, Bacary Sagna, Gael Clichy some players who have switched allegiances in the near past and have another midfielder in the form of Jack Wilshere already eyed for the summer. City are yet to agree a deal with James Milner and will lose Frank Lampard who will head to America at the end of the season. They have fears about homegrown players and are also linked with Burnley’s Danny Ings are now reports say that they are lining up a deal to sign Wilshere from Arsenal.

The 23-year-old has had injury concerns this season and has been regularly in and out of the site. The regular smoking controversies have not eluded him as well, but this hasn’t stopped him from being linked to various clubs with Liverpool also suggested to be one of the clubs vying his services.

Wilshere is thought to be worth about A?25million.

Ross Barkley and Aaron Cresswell are also being eyed by the Manchester club, according to the Mirror.

Despite the “bad boy” reputation the England international has received due to his smoking antics, manager Arsene Wenger doesn’t believe Wilshere is not a good character and also finds his image in the media, “wrong”.

a I observe him well and he behaves in a very professional way. Every morning, hea s certainly one of the first in and every afternoon certainly the last out. He works very hard. Hea s gone through some bad spells in his career and always recovered. It would be wrong to give him that kind of reputation because hea s a serious player”, said the Arsenal boss.

Wilshere is a player who has been tipped from very early days, to be Arsenal’s “next big thing”. Erratic performances and regular injuries haven’t helped his case.

Manchester City are clearly in pursuit of players who can both tick their homegrown players criteria, as well add more to their existing squad. City are currently not performing very well and their weak midfield is one of the reasons behind it. Yaya Toure is one of the Citizen’s most important players and was instrumental in the side’s league win last season. He hasn’t had the same impact this time (while still being a big player for the side). Pellegrini’s side need a Jack Wilshere type of a player- boss the midfield, tick proceedings from the centre. 25m is a sum that could get the Gunners interested and if Wilshere can fulfil his potential at the Etihad, he could prove to be a very astute buy for the club.
