LVG Will Speak To Manchester United Vice Chairman Ed Woodward After 4th Straight Loss, Could Quit

Manchester United marched to their 4th consecutive defeat in all competitions against Stoke City this weekend and manager Louis van Gaal has said he will speak to Ed Woodward about his future.

Louis van Gaal has been put under even more pressure as Manchester United slumped to a 2-0 away loss to Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium and he has said that he will speak to the Executive Vice Chairman Ed Woodward, his staff and his players about his future.

a I can quit by myself but that is something I speak about with Ed Woodward by himself,a the Dutchman was quoted as saying by The Guardian, a I will speak with him first and then with my staff. I need to have a conversation but I do not need to tell you what I want to say. I am not so interested in public talking.a

The Dutch manager said that he does not see himself as a bad coach and that he has been working hard with the squad, but it has failed to translate onto the pitch.

a You can say I have failed if you like, but I dona t think ita s like that,a Van Gaal said. a I have been doing my best to try and find a solution but once the players are out on the pitch they have to do it by themselves. I am able to deal with the pressure; the players still have to perform.a

Curtains for the Iron Tulip

It is turning out to be a very unfortunate holiday season for Louis van Gaal. With Manchester United falling out of the top 4 in the Premier League and following their exit from the Champions League earlier this month, Van Gaal does not have the results backing him up like he did when he was being criticised earlier for being boring and too strict.

The fans have voiced their anger at Van Gaal and the proud Dutchman has also let his exasperation show in a very obvious manner at his recent press conferences. His talk with Ed Woodward could well be a decisive one and it remains to be seen whether it leads to a resignation handed in by the manager nicknamed ‘The Iron Tulip’.
