FC Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has ruled out loan deal for new signings Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal stating that they will stay and make their debuts in January.
FC Barcelona signed Aleix Vidal last month from Sevilla and Turkey international Arda Turan recently joined the Catalan giants from Atletico Madrid.
The club are currently banned from registering new players and thereby, cannot play them till January when the FIFA imposed ban expires.
Duo going nowhere
President Josep Bartomeu had stated that Turan could move on loan and speculation was rife that the club could allow him and Vidal to play elsewhere till the ban was lifted.
However, manager Luis Enrique has put those rumors to rest.
He is quoted saying to El Mundo Deportivo: “We want them to train with us in order for them to get to know the team mechanism.
“We have great hope placed in them. We have not considered, nor will we consider, that Turan or Vidal be loaned.
“The fact that they cannot play until January is a disadvantage but what I want is for them to be with us until then. In any case, we have a squad capable of starting the season in the best possible condition.”
Where does this leave Turan?
.
Turan was a key player in the Atletico Madrid side that won the league in 2013-14. However, the player is now ineligible to play for the Blaugrana till new year, and a move to former suitors, Chelsea FC and Manchester United, has been ruled out now.
The player will now train with the FC Barcelona first-team for the next five months, till their transfer ban is lifted, but even then, there could be further agony for the Turkish wide man who would most certainly be behind Messi, Neymar and Suarez in the pecking order and will be competing with Pedro and Munir for the back up role.
