FC Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has admitted that he would be powerless should Pedro’s exit clause be met by clubs interested in the player, with Manchester United and Chelsea FC linked to the Spain international who is thought to be unsettled at Camp Nou.
Pedroa s future at FC Barcelona has been subject to intense speculation despite the player signing a new deal in the summer.
The arrival of new signing Arda Turan to add to the already existing trio of Neymar, Messi, Suarez means Pedroa s chances might be limited at the club.
The player himself was quoted saying earlier that he was unsure about his future and his buyout clause recently dropped from a 150 million to a 30m
Trigger clause and get Pedro
FC Barcelona manager Luis Enrique had stressed earlier this month that he wants Pedro to stay at the club, but has now admitted that the player could leave should his release clause was to be met.
“Pedro? If he wants to go, a club will have to meet his release clause,” Luis Enrique was quoted as saying by Sport.
“I have talked with Pedro to discuss his situation. I have told him how I think about it and he told me how he feels about it. .
“I obviously won’t reveal the exact content of the conversation we had.”
Where could Pedroa s future lie?
Both, Manchester United and Chelsea FC would be attractive options for Pedro.
Whilst recent reports claim Manchester United are favourites for the Spanish winger, earlier reports in Catalan media stated Chelsea FC are leading the race a with Pedro allegedly having had conversations with manager Jos Mourinho which the player later denied.
One would think that Pedro will use these coming six months till Turan is ineligible to play for FC Barcelona to see where he stands and could decide his next move in January if not in the summer.
