Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling Wants Manchester City Move Before Season Starts

Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling is keen on a move away from Anfield, and also wants to make sure it’s done before the Premier League season starts.

If you’re a football fan and don’t know that Raheem Sterling isn’t a happy lad, you’re definitely living under a rock. The 20 year-old has made it clear he doesn’t wish to stay at Liverpool. After a mid-season unsanctioned interview with BBC, Sterling has invited a lot of media frenzy but one thing has been established – the England international will start next season in different colours, unless he has a giant change in heart.

The Independent report that the player is keen to move to City before the Premier League season begins on August 8, as he wants to ensure his preparation for next season isn’t destabilized. The report states: Sterling is unwilling to be part of a late deal that would destabilise his preparation for the season. He wants to leave Liverpool but he also wants to make sure he has a solid pre-season in order that he has a good basis for the European championships in France this time next year.

City are expected to make their second bid in between A?30m and A?35m after their first bid of A?25m plus A?5m add-ons was rejected by the Reds. Liverpool are adamant they will not sell the player to a rival for less than A?50m (Liverpool also have to give some of the received amount to QPR). However, it is being reported that City will not go much beyond the A?35m mark. However, they could throw a player in the deal and talks of Edin Dzeko being the player involved are doing rounds. We might see the 29 year-old being swapped in the deal for Sterling, but City will still have to pay a sizeable amount for the Merseysiders to be interested.

Arsenal were interested in the player but they have pulled out of the race as they know they can’t compete with City. There are still some rumors of Theo Walcott being involved in a cash plus player deal for Sterling but it is unlikely as the England winger is close to signing a new deal with the Gunners.
