Liverpool FC may miss the services of two crucial players, Daniel Sturridge and Mamadou Sakho in the FA Cup semi final on Sunday, 19th April, against Aston Villa. Daniel Sturridge, who missed the Premier League clash last night against Newcastle United owing to a persisting hip problem, may get fit before Sunday but Sakhoa s chances to make it for the cup tie looks bleak. Mamadou Sakho has sustained an injury in the hamstring and is ruled out for four weeks.
Speaking on Sturridgea s chances of playing the FA Cup semi final game, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers said, “By the middle of the week we’ll have a good indication of where he’s at.”
Daniel Sturridge has had a disappointing season for Liverpool, missing out on majority of the matches so far. He has suffered back to back injuries since last September and has only managed to score four times for the Merseyside club. The English international is facing persisting thigh injuries since the beginning of the season.
Mamadou Sakho was jolted by the hamstring injury in the FA Cup quarter-final replay game against Blackburn Rovers last week. Sakho had limped out of the field during the game. As per reports, Sakho will miss all the upcoming ties of Liverpool in the coming three, four weeks. The club is hopeful that the French centre-back will regain fitness before the game against Chelsea on May 10th.
