The Club officials and the manager Brendan Rodgers were supposed to discuss Sterling’s future with his agent in the aforesaid meeting. Raheem Sterling’s future at the club is under increasing scrutiny at the moment as the player had earlier mentioned that he would not sign a contract extension. The Reds were determined to retain his services and thus had planned to meet Aidy Ward.
Surprisingly things changed after Aidy Ward’s comments on the club and his client’s future was published in the media. Sterling’s agent spoke arrogantly and said, a I dona t care about the PR of the club and the club situation. I dona t care.
a He is definitely not signing. Hea s not signing for A?700, A?800, A?900 thousand a week. He is not signing.”
He also bashed club legend Jamie Carragher who had earlier advised Sterling to act sensibly.
It is believed the Premier League giants did take Ward’s in the spirit and hence decided to call off the planned meeting.
