Liverpool Have Asked Super Agent Jorge Mendes To Help Them Sign Brazilian Starlet

Liverpool have joined the race to sign highly rated Porto full-back Danilo and are poised well to sign the player in the summer. According to O Jogo, the Merseysiders have joined Serie A giants Juventus, in the race to sign Danilo Silva.

Reports have offered plenty of confusion as Real Madrid and Barcelona have been locked in a race to sign Brazilian full-back Danilo from FC Porto. English media outlets who have carried out this report have conveniently replaced the two players and naturally, a lot of confusion has taken place due to this.

O Jogo have stated that Liverpool scouts watched Danilo play in a match recently. This is not the first time the player has got interest from the Merseysiders. There were reports of Liverpool’s interest back when the midfielder was plying his trade for Vasco da Gama. Jorge Mendes bought the player’s rights when he was at Vasco da Gama and placed him at Braga for profit in future. The Reds were actually interested in the player then but football’s super agent beat them to reap the rewards in the future.

Sportwitness report: The midfielder not represented by Jorge Mendes and his Gestifute agency, but Mendes helped his transfer to Braga and Liverpool invited along a colleague of the agent, from Gestifute, to the match with them.

Born in 1996, he played in the mini Copa Am rica for Brazil U-15s while he was with VitA?ria and then moved to Vasco da Gama in Rio de Janeiro. Vasco was the place where the midfielder’s rise began. He gradually progressed through the club’s youth ranks. He was also a part of Brazil’s under-15 squad which won the South American Championship in 2011, and won the Toulon Tournament with a squad of Brazilian under-20 players. He can operate both as a defensive midfielder or as a more of a box-to-box type role, because of his ability to thrust forward. In that sense, he is a lot like Emre Can. However, because of his better positional sense, he could be used better in the holding role than Can, who makes for a better box-to-box player.

He would be a fantastic signing for the Reds if the transfer were to take place. Lucas Leiva has done a phenomenal job since returning to the side but he does need a good cover. Joe Allen’s credentials have been doubted time and again and whether the Welshman can cement his place in the team on a regular basis is unsure. Danilo wouldn’t be put in the starting eleven right away but could become a squad player immediately and gradually rise at the club. He is a great prospect and has been rated as one of Brazil’s big future player. He would be a fine signing for the club and the fact that they were scouting him again, and have enlisted the help of Gestifute and Mendes means they are seriously interested in signing him.
