Atletico Madrid have confirmed that they have agreed to a request by Liverpool FC to terminate the loan of defender Javier Manquillo a year into the two year loan deal.
The 21-year-old Atletico Madrid academy graduate joined Liverpool FC in an initial two-year loan deal last summer with an option to buy for the Merseyside giants.
However, after a decent start to his Anfield career where he made a few starts early on in the season following injuries to Glen Johnson, Manquillo struggled to hold down a place in Brendan Rodgersa side when the manager switched to a formation that required wingbacks.
Liverpool FC have now gone onto add Nathaniel Clyne to their ranks along with returning Andre Wisdom who spent a year away on loan, the young Spaniard was deemed surplus to requirements.

As per reports in Liverpool Echo, Liverpool FC could only cut short the loan deal of the rightback with the permission of both Atletico Madrid and the player himself, which the Reds were able to.
In a statement on their website, Atletico Madrid said that Manquillo had a not enjoyed all the desirable minutes for his growth in footballa and that he had been recalled by a mutual consenta .
They also stated that a he will decide in the next few days the club where he will play next seasona with another loan elsewhere in Europe set to be finalised shortly.
One potential destination could be the Portuguese champions, Benfica. The club are reportedly in a battle to keep current right back Maxi Pereira who has turned down the offer of a new contract. The club have begun sounding out replacements for the outgoing 31-year-old, including Javier Manquillo according to reports in A Bola.
