Liverpool FC welcome back their creative star Phillipe Coutinho and captain Jordan Henderson to the starting XI against West Brom.
Liverpool FC take on West Brom hoping to take another step in their battle for a top 4 finish. Having struggled to beat Swansea and losing against Newcastle in the absence of creative Brazilian Phillipe Coutinho, the return of the star would be a relief for the Merseyside outfit.
The Reds have missed his creative spark in both the games, especially against Newcastle, who used familiar tactics which Liverpool FC have found hard to deal with. That is, when opponents have sat deep and invited the Reds to break them down.
The penetrative midfield running of captain Jordan Henderson is another aspect that the Reds have missed. Having recovered from his heel injury, Henderson is expected to start against West Brom for the first time since August.
Liverpool also welcome back defender Jon Flanagan, who is finally available after a long injury lay-off. However, star striker Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings, defender Mamadou Sakho and Joe Gomez are both ruled out of the tie.
Possible Starting XI
Liverpool are expected to feature Henderson, Lucas and Emre Can in midfield, with Skrtel, Lovren, Moreno and Clyne forming the back four protecting Belgian ‘Keeper Simon Mignolet.
.
Mignolet’s international team-mate Christian Benteke is likely to be overlooked in favor of Brazil star Roberto Firmino as the central attacker, who will be flanked by Phillipe Coutinho and Adam Lallana.
