Liverpool FC manager Brendan Rodgers is likely to deploy the same team he did against Arsenal FC with captain Jordan Henderson still out due to injury.

Liverpool FC manager Brendan Rodgers is likely to continue with the same side that held off Arsenal FC at the Emirates, with new German international Emre Can and Lucas Leiva retaining their starting spots.

The midfield trio of Can, Lucas, Milner gave a sound defensive performance, as the Reds held onto their third clean sheet in as many games.

Lucas in particular, was praised by his manager ahead of the tie against West Ham as Rodgers labelled his Arsenal performance as “excellent”.

He was subbed off early in the second half having played only his first game for Liverpool.

.

Another player who is short of match fitness but will start is Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian attacker made his first start for the Reds against Arsenal having signed from Hoffenheim this summer.

Liverpool FC are expected to name the same defence as they have played over the last three games. Left-back slot will see young Joe Gomez keep out Alberto Moreno. The English youngster is only 18 and a central/right-sided defender by trade, but, has arguably been the pick of the defenders in the first three games for the Reds.

Another man who was an unlikely candidate for a slot in the starting XI but now finds himself to be an integral part of Rodgers’ lineup is Dejan Lovren. The Croat keeps Mahamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure out of the XI.

Joe Allen, Daniel Sturridge and Jon Flannagan are all out injured along with Jordan Henderson.
