Liverpool FC have confirmed their third summer signing in Hungarian International Goalkeeper Adam Bogdan on a free transfer from Bolton.
Liverpool FC announced the transfer on their official website in a statement that said: ‘Liverpool FC are pleased to announce that personal terms have been agreed with Adam Bogdan and the goalkeeper will join the club on a free transfer on July 1 after his contract with Bolton Wanderers has expired.’
Bogdan is an Hungarian international and is expected to be a back to Belgian Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet following the departure of goalkeeper Brad Jones on a free transfer.
Bogdan has been a regular at Bolton for four seasons and was part of the side which went down to the Championship in 2012.
He has established himself as one of the leaguea s more reliable goalkeepers and is known for his good shot-stopping making more than 100 appearances at Barclays Premier League and Championship level after signing for Bolton in 2007.
But, a cause for concern is regarding his fitness having missed plenty of time last season through injury, playing just nine league games. And with his long passing listed as weakness on whoscored.com, it is a strange choice from Liverpool FC given their style of play is to build from the back.
Liverpool FC have already completed three free signings this summer in James Milner from Manchester City, Burnley striker Danny Ings, and now Adam Bogdan.
.
The club are also hoping to sign Nathaniel Clyne but are understood that will go back with an offer more than 10 million pounds which was rejected by the Saints who value the player closer to 15 million pounds with a year to run to his contract.
Cristian Benteke, Liverpool FC’s other target has been offered a new deal with Liverpool cooling their interest off late after Aston Villa quoted a price of around 32 million pound, much higher than Liverpool’s valuation of the player around 20 million pound mark.
