Liverpool FC Fans Overjoyed After Jurgen Klopp Agrees To Become The Reds’ Manager [Tweets]

Jurgen Klopp agreed on Thursday to become Liverpool FC’s new manager and was expected at the club later in the day, British media said.

The English Premier League side have been looking for a new boss since Brendan Rodgers was sacked on Sunday. The former Borussia Dortmund coach had been the hot favourite from the start.

Sky television said Klopp, 48, had agreed to become manager. The Daily Mail newspaper said Klopp would sign a three year deal under which he would earn more than four million pounds ($6.1 million) a year.

Several of Rodgers’ backroom staff — including Gary McAllister and Sean O’Driscoll — left Liverpool FC on Thursday in anticipation of the new manager arriving.

Klopp led Borussia to two Bundesliga titles in seven years before leaving in May saying he wanted a sabbatical.

Liverpool FC fans took to Twitter to express their delight at the appointment of one of the best coaches of recent years and have pinned their hopes on the German.
