Brendan Rodgersa back room staff is going through an overhaul and the Northern Irishman has been without a number 2 since former assistant boss Colin Pascoe was axed along with first team coach Mike Marsh. After a review conducted by the club owners where Rodgersa s future was decided, Pascoe and Marsh, were sacked and a paid the price for last seasona s disappointmentsa .

Liverpool are expected to appoint the England Under-19 head coach, Sean Oa Driscoll, as the sidea s new assistant manager and make the announcement on Monday.

Pepjin Lijnders was promoted to a first team role after his work with Liverpool’s academy, and was expected to replace Mike Marsh as the first team coach but Chris Bascombe of The Telegraph writes that Lijnders will not be Marsh’s replacement and Liverpool were going to bring in someone else for the role with several ex-players in consideration.

The report states: He (O’Driscoll) replaces Colin Pascoe as Rodgersa right hand man, and will be joined on a new-look backroom team by the academy coach Pepijn Lijnders. Lijnders has been promoted to focus on one-to-one sessions with individual players, and he will also continue to work within the cluba s youth ranks. Liverpool still plan to appoint a first-team coach to replace Mike Marsh, whose contract ended at the end of last season and was not renewed. Rodgers is considering the credentials of several ex-players before making an appointment.

The backroom staff is expected to be complete right in time so that Liverpool start their pre-season tour of Australia and the Far East on 12 July with the complete manegerial team.
