Liverpool FC Boss Jurgen Klopp ‘Uninterested’ In Celebrating Win Over Leicester City Due To Lack Of Time

Liverpool FC have earned yet another famous victory over a top team, but manager Jurgen Klopp says that he and his team do not have the time to dwell on the win over table toppers Leicester City.

The Reds got a well-earned 1-0 victory over the Foxes with a goal from Christian Benteke, who came on in the first half in place of Divock Origi, but they cannot really rest on their laurels right now.

“You cannot believe how uninteresting this is for me at this moment,a Klopp was quoted as saying in Sky Sports. “We don’t have to dream, there is no time, we cannot even celebrate a win. We cannot really feel bad after a defeat, because we don’t have time, we always have to stay up and be concentrated on the next game.

“Talk about it all you want, I’m not interested in this moment.”

Praise for Benteke

The Belgian forward had to come on in the first half as his compatriot Origi pulled out with an injury. Benteke did not really have much time to warm up before coming into the game, but put up an excellent show in the second half, scoring the only goal of the match.

“For Christian it was really, really difficult for him to come into the game,” said Klopp. “Second half he was brilliant for the team.”

Liverpool have some time

Contrary to what Klopp said though, Liverpool do have some time in hand as compared to the other teams. While the likes of Chelsea FC, Manchester United and Arsenal FC have just one day of rest ahead of the 19th game of the season, Liverpool have three days before they face Sunderland on Wednesday. It remains to be seen if Klopp’s men are able to keep up their inspiring performance from the match against Leicester City in their upcoming fixtures or not.
