Liverpool FC manager Brendan Rodgers has recently earned some breathing space in lieu of recent results, but the rumour mill doesna t stop churning about his impending sacking. The 53-year-old Walter Mazzarri is reportedly to be one of the favourites to replace Rodgers at Liverpool.
Mazzarri, looking for a new job since leaving Inter Milan last November, has been linked with the managerial posts of not just Liverpool FC, but also of Sunderland AFC and Stoke City.
Mazzarria s agent Andrea D’Amico stoked the fire on Wednesday, by claiming that his client is learning the English language as he prepares himself for a stint in the Premier League.
“He’s carrying out a program of continuous upgrading, and he’s learning the English language well,” D’Amico told FCInterNews.
Da Amico admitted that Mazzarri was looking into the Premier League as one of his potential destinations.
“Will he go to the Premier League? It’s hard to say, Mazzarri is a coach of the highest level, he’s proved that everywhere he’s worked. I don’t think the geographical location of his new club is important, it’s the project. Walter deserves to work at a high level.a
.
Mazzarri built a reputation for himself during his stint at SSC Napoli, when they challenged for the UEFA Champions League spots, but damaged his reputation during his short stint at Inter Milan. Every decision of Mazzarri during his time for the Nerazzurri backfired and he was subsequently forced to leave them. Since then, Mazzarri has been out of work and is now looking to return to management.
Da Amico said that while his client is eager to return to management, it would depend on the project. “For his new challenge two things will count above all; the project and the contract. He could return to work immediately, or at the end of the season, it depends on the project.”
