FC Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta has labelled the recent bid to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus as foolish.

.

FC Barcelona’s pursuit of Paul Pogba was confirmed when Juventus chief Marota said the Italian giants had rejected an 80 million Euro offer from the Catalan giants.

Joan Laporta, who has promised that he will sign Paul Pogba if he becomes the next FC Barcelona president citing his relationship with the player’s agent Mino Raiola as the key to the deal, launched another attack on the current FC Barcelona management.

He said that the attempt to sign Paul Pogba left sporting director Ariedo Braida and director of sporting insitutional relations Albero Soler looking like “fools”.

“The key is [agent] Mino Raiola,” Bartomeu told Catalunya Radio. “He is the one who will decide.”

“They [Soler and Braida] preferred to go talk with Juventus but they didn’t know what to do and were made fools of.”

a [Sporting director Ariedo] Braida’s meeting with Juventus and [director of sporting institutional relations Albert] Soler was a failure, it was ridiculous and made Barcelona look bad,a Laporta told Cadena Ser.

a Soler acts in ignorance of the world of football.a

Joan Laporta has repeatedly stated his intention to sign Paul Pogba, but, said that he never claimed he would do so this summer.

“I would not say anything other than Pogba will not come to Barcelona this year.”

It does look like FC Barcelona would not be pursuing Paul Pogba this year, with Laporta joining Bartomeu to say that the player would not be signed this year.
