Kramaric Reveals Why He Snubbed Chelsea In Favour Of Leicester

Andrej Kramaric signed for Leicester City last week after rejecting an offer from Chelsea and he said that the chance of first team football is what attracted him to Leicester.

Speaking to BBC East Midlands, Kramaric said, “Chelsea is the biggest team in the Premier League, but I chose Leicester because I feel something good here. I think I will play much more here and I hope we will stay in the Premier League.

“The Premier League is the biggest league in the world with the most world-class players and I wanted to feel it.”

Leicester City have scored just 20 goals in 22 Premier League games this season and as a result they find themselves at the bottom of the table. Leonardo Ulloa was in good form at the start of the season after signing from Brighton Hove Albion for A?8m and was part of the reason why the Foxes did so well in the first couple of months. However, his form has tailed off in the last three months which has hit Leicester hard as the lack of an in-form goalscorer up front has rendered them toothless.

Kramaric has proved in the last few seasons that he has a bright future ahead as his goalscoring exploits has got better and better every season. The Croatian international had scored an amazing 21 goals in just 18 league appearances for his former club HNK Rijeka before moving to Leicester. Leicester had to break their transfer record again to sign him, but considering the number of goals and his form in the last few weeks, the fee might turn out to be a bargain.

The 23-year old was courted by Chelsea, but a move to Leicester might turn out to be a good decision for Kramaric. The competition for places at Chelsea is really high as the likes of Diego Costa, Eden Hazard, Willian and Oscar are rarely dislodged from the first team. Even the likes of Andre Schurrle and Loic Remy, who are proven players, get scant first team football. Kramaric still has a lot of time on his side, so a move to a better club will eventually happen if he establishes himself as a good top flight player in England.

Kramaric’s first task will be to help his side to get out from the relegation places as Leicester have picked up just 17 points and are three points off Burnley who occupy the 17th spot.
