Serie A champions Juventus have set a deadline of 31st July for entertaining offers for midfield duo Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal, according to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Pogba has been at the top of the wish-list for some of Europe’s biggest clubs in Barcelona, Manchester City, etc. with an a 80 million asking price believed to be the stumbling block. Vidal, on the other hand has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid and . Arsenal FC in recent months, with his agent said to be in contact with the clubs.
Reports had earlier suggested that the future of the Chilean combative midfielder, will be clear after the end of the Copa America, which Chile went to win. However, no such developments have so far occurred, and a relatively low price in the region of a 30-35 million, has been touted for the 28-year-old, who has been at the club for four years since his move from Bayer Leverkusen.
However, the Old Lady have set a deadline of July 31, following which it will not be entertaining any offers for the magical duo, as the club prepares for their new season which commences on the 8th of August against Lazio in the Supercoppa Italiana which will be held in Shanghai, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Juventus are resigned to lose the duo, with Vidal already 28, set to see his market price drop in the following seasons. The club will however, not want to let go of Pogba, Vidal and Pirlo in the same window, after the Italian maestro was revealed as a New York City FC player earlier this month.
Manchester City have reportedly baulked at the a 80 million asking price for the French midfielder, while Barcelona are waiting for their Presidential election to take place on 19th July, and any offers for the Pogba before the same is unlikely. Paris Saint Germain are also interested in the services of the 22-year-old.
The Champions League runners-up will look to finalize any outbound transfers before 31st July, so they have ample time to secure able replacements for the departing duo, with Chelsea’s Oscar and Juan Cuadrado set to be at the top of their wish list. The Old Lady are also said to be interested in signing another world class defender.
