Juventus Confirm They Turned Down Liverpool FC Offer For Star Midfielder

Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio was offered a deal to join Liverpool FC according to the Turin cluba s chief executive Giuseppe Marotta.

Marchisio was one of the key players for Juventus on their march to the Champions League final last year, with the Juve academy graduate also playing a key role in the title triumphs over the years.

Juventus confirm Liverpool FC approach for Marchisio

Marchisio has been linked with a move to Liverpool FC following the arrival of German manager Jurgen Klopp, however, Juventus Chief Executive reckons their star midfielder is going nowhere despite the Turin side receiving offers for him.

.

a We get so many offers for our players, but we are used to buying – not selling,a Marotta was quoted as saying to Premium Sport by the Guardian following Juventusa s 0-0 draw against Inter Milan at the weekend.

a We have renewed with him, our focus is strong and I think Claudioa s first thought is to finish his career here. Not only Liverpool, we have received several offers.a

Is Marchisio deal likely?

Marchisio had recently renewed his contract till June 2020, and it looks like Liverpool’s pursuit of the midfielder has ended even before it began.

Liverpool could do with a strong midfielder though, especially given that the likes of Joe Allen and Lucas Leiva are almost consistently injured, plus, someone of the ilk of Claudio Marchisio will add leadership as well as quality to a very young side.

Besides, Marchisio is also known for his work-rate, something that fits in perfectly with the current Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp, who plays football built on the ability to squeeze the life out of their opponents through relentless pressing and then lightning-quick attacks.

That being said, it seems far from likely that Liverpool FC will get any satisfaction out of the pursuit of the Italian international, who has been at the club all his life considering Juventus clearly see him as a valuable part of their squad, as evident from the long-term contract.
