Liverpool FC seem to have come out as the front runners to land the signature of Lucas Moura, as the Brazilian has reportedly fallen out with the management at PSG.
The Reds have shown a marked improvement in their play ever since Jurgen Klopp took over as the manager, but the German has had a stop-start beginning to his Anfield career, winning big matches against Chelsea FC and Manchester City on the one hand, but losing at relegation-threatened Newcastle United on the other.
However, the Reds boss is said to have been impressed by the Brazilian playmaker and is even keen to get him on board as early as January, according to French magazine Le 10 Sport. [via talkSPORT.com]
Moura prefers Arsenal FC move
However, Klopp faces stiff competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal FC, as the Gunners are also said to be interested in the Brazilian playmaker, in order to bolster their injury-ridden squad.
.
One key factor in this regard is that Moura himself is said to be a huge fan of Arsenal FC and their manager Arsene Wenger and would like a move to the North London club, according to ItaSportPress. [via Goal.com]
The Gunners have a long list of injuries especially in their midfield region and could do with a couple of quality additions to their squad, especially with big names like Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla missing out on crucial matches.
Moura won’t be cheap
Whoever eventually signs Moura would have to shell out a lot of dough for the Brazilian winger, who was bought by PSG for a hefty a 40 million.
Although he is currently valued at lower than that at a 32 million by Transfermarkt.com, the price is sure to skyrocket due to the fact that he still has a long time on his contract.
Moura’s contract with PSG runs till 2019 and, with three and a half years still to go, the Ligue 1 champions are not going to let a player of his caliber go cheaply.
