Manchester United have come under criticism yet again after a 2-1 loss to Norwich City at home, but playmaker Juan Mata believes that the only way Manchester United can turn things around is by working hard.
Manchester United have now fallen out of the top four positions, with Tottenham Hotspur leapfrogging them on goal difference. However, the former Chelsea FC and Valencia CF player is not ready to give up just yet.
“No matter how tough the situation can be, I’m not even thinking about giving up,” Mata wrote on his blog on Monday. “I try to give the maximum regardless of things going well or bad. I believe that’s the only way to get out of this bad streak: keep working hard and sooner or later we will get the results that we want.
“We are in a complicated situation and in order to get out of it we have to stick together and believe in ourselves so we can get a positive result as soon as possible,” he further wrote. “We all feel frustrated, same as last week, and we need to win a game as quickly as possible because it will change our mood and give us confidence, I’m sure of that. Our next chance to do it will be in Boxing Day at Stoke, and that’s not an easy game.”
Van Gaal in a tight spot
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal seems to have landed himself in an extremely tight spot after the Norwich result, with most of the fans turning against him. There have also been reports that a bad result in the next couple of games could well pave the way for the Dutchman’s exit from Old Trafford, and with a top manager like Jose Mourinho being available after being sacked by Chelsea FC, it seems all the more plausible.
