Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has confirmed the club’s interest in bringing Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic back to Italy this summer.

Liverpool FC are reportedly interested in the Montenegro international who made just 9 starts for Manchester City this season, but Inter Milan could be ready to offer the former Fiorentina man the chance to return to Italy.

“There are many players that we are evaluating at this moment,” Piero Ausilio said.

“Jovetic is one of them and I don’t know whether Manchester City put him on the market or not.”

“We need to bring in a few players. It’s not a question of quantity, but of quality. They must be talented, useful and functional to the project.”

Jovetic had another injury plagued season and his 10 of his 22 appearance for Manchester City were from the bench. He did contribute to 8 Manchester City goals in those 22 displays and while his talent is in no doubt, the former Fiorentina man’s injury record makes one wonder if he will be much better off in a lesser physical league that is Serie A.

Jovetic was bought from the Serie A in a A?27million move and has failed to make an impact for the 2013-14 champions in what can be described as a frustrating time for the club and the player.

The player has been constantly linked with a move to Liverpool FC with their need for a forward well documented. Jovetic destroyed Liverpool FC in the group stage in the Champions League in 2009-10 but, was suffered a serious injury and was out for 9 months for Fiorentina. Liverpool have been keeping tabs on the forward since then, but, his injury record and Fiorentina’s transfer fee demands meant Liverpool lost out to Manchester City and it does look like bullet dodged for the Merseysiders who could yet land him in a cut price deal.

.

Jovetic is a good dribbler, despite having lost a chunk of that pace that made him so destructive in that Champions League tie but is still capable of scoring goals if fit as demonstrated last season when he hit a purple patch for considerable amount of time when he was fit.
