Herrera Dismisses Claims Of A Move Away From Manchester United, Says He Is Happy At The Club

Recent reports had surfaced which claimed that Ander Herrera was on his way out of Manchester United in search of more regular first-team football, but the player has dismissed these reports and said he’s happy where he is.

The 26-year-old Spanish midfielder has not had a good time this season, often finding himself out of Louis van Gaal’s starting XI, and recent reports claimed that he was actively seeking a move away from the club. Herrera has, however, dismissed these claims and reiterated his love for Old Trafford.

a When I was in Spain, I always thought about the best teams in the world and maybe the biggest and most-supported club is Manchester United,a he told United Review [Via: . The Guardian].

a So I worked very hard to be here. When I was in Spain, I was very professional and had to be very consistent to get here. Now I am here, I always say the same thing: the most difficult thing is to stay at a big club.”

Speaking about his need to fight for a spot in the starting XI, he said a Of course, it is difficult to arrive at a big team in the first place, but it is even harder to stay there. The club has the possibility to sign new players and ita s a very powerful club so all players want to play here. I have to fight for my position and gain my position and I will do it.a

How is Herrera not playing every match?

The last contribution Ander Herrera made on the pitch before his recent injury was setting up Memphis Depay for Manchester United’s first goal against Watford with a perfect cross. Herrera has impressed a lot with his vision and passing ability in previous seasons and would well be the best option for United for the position right behind the striker.

Fans have been clamouring for Herrera’s inclusion into the starting XI and they have been vindicated by his performances for the team. Yet Van Gaal continues going the Van Gaal way and it remains to be seen whether the Spaniard will get his chance.
