Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has blasted Arsenal FC record signing Mesut Ozil for his abysmal performances in recent weeks.
Arsenal FC suffered their second consecutive defeat in the group stage of Champions League in the 3-2 loss to Olympiakos, and have failed to put up convincing performances in the league as well. The Gunners could face an early exit from the elite competition, if they fail to get the desired results against Bundesliga giants Bayern munich, who they face in the next two fixtures.

Redknapp tore into Mesut Ozil’s failure to close down an opponent for Olympiakos’ first goal, and was quoted by Evening Standard as saying:

The former Real Madrid man has often come under criticism for his perceived lack of effort on the field but big things were expected from the German, having participated in his first ever pre-season campaign with the Gunners. However, both Ozil and Arsenal FC have failed to deliver on the expectations on the back of a perfect pre-season.
Arsenal FC host Manchester United in a crunch clash on Sunday and the Gunners’ faithful would be hoping that the German finally gets going, as he could prove pivotal in Arsenal FC’s quest for three points against the league leaders.
