Gianfranco Zola Compares Eden Hazard’s Struggle To His Second Season At Chelsea FC

Chelsea FC Icon Gianfranco Zola on Thursday suggested Eden Hazard to use his second season struggle as an inspiration to overcome his poor form to develop into a better player.

Zola, revered by the staunch supporters of Chelsea FC for his contributions to the club between 1996 and 2003, had struggled to adapt in his second season in England and has compared it to Eden Hazarda s current poor form.

Hazard, who bagged the PFA player of the year award last season, had been a key player for the Chelsea FC team that won the league title, but the blues have struggled this season with Hazard and several of their players under performing. Zola believes that his former side will soon get to see the new and improved version of the Belgian, as the experience will help the Chelsea FC number 10 to develop a new side to his game.

The former West Ham United manager in an interview to Evening Standard was seen backing the Belgian star to overcome his poor run of form and to fulfill his potential.

“Hazard is in a similar situation to I was at Chelsea in my second year.

“The first year was very good, as it was for Hazard, he did so much, received so much recognition and now the spotlight is on him all the time and this is making everything he does a little more difficult.

“Every player goes through this but in a way I think it will be good for him as it will make him think about his game a bit more.

.

“So it’s an opportunity for him to become a better player. He is young and has the potential to be one of the best.”

Can Hazard become the best player in the world?

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi may have been hogging all the media attention for being the best players of the world. But they arena t very far from the time when age catches up with the two superstars. Brazilian Neymar and Belgian Eden Hazard have been touted as the successor to this great rivalry but it remains to be seen whether these talented youngsters can fulfill their potential.

The Belgian had a sparkling season last year but is still a rough diamond that needs a bit of caressing to help him mould into the gem he can be. The winger’s current poor form should help him develop a new side to his game that would help him propel in the right direction.
