AC Milan yet again fumbled a lead to Fiorentina in the dying moments of the match to lose by 2-1 to Viola. This defeat has put the future of coach Pippo Inzaghi in doubt but the coach is optimistic that he will save his job.

Fiorentina were in desperate need of a victory after their shocking 4-0 defeat at the hands of Lazio last week, while AC Milan needed at least a point to keep their hopes of playing in Europe alive. Mattia Destro did put AC Milan ahead but Fiorentina always looked dangerous in the entire game and made a strong come back in last 8 minutes of the match.

Gonzalo Rodriguez and Joaquin scored two goals in quick succession to help Fiorentina secure a memorable comeback. AC Milan coach Pippo Inzaghi was dissatisfied with the result but said that they deserved a win.

a We went back to playing the kind of football we used to and today I saw My Milan,a Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia.

a Ita s a huge shame, as even a draw woulda ve been harsh on us, yet we lost a game that we deserved to win.

a You cannot allow a side like Fiorentina to stay in the game. Ita s a pity, but we have to look at the performance above all else. Tonight I could not have asked more from my players.a

The future of Inzaghi hangs in balance after this defeat but the AC Milan boss said that he hopes to save his job.

a I hope to stay, if not Ia ll work elsewhere,a said the AC Milan boss.

a I am very relaxed, as we prepared well for this game and I think that was evident. When you lose a match that you deserved to win, it makes you even angrier.a

Meanwhile Fiorentina coach Vicenzo Montella was extremely pleased with the win over AC Milan and hailed the spirit of his players.

a We won a very important match in which we ran into quite a few difficulties, above all in the first half,a Montella told Sky Sport Italia.

a We suffered AC Milana s counter-attacks and they coulda ve taken the lead earlier. After the break we dominated only to concede against the run of play.

a That goal gave the team an important mental strength, the right spirit, the spirit that can aim for the Champions League.a
