With Dani Alves almost certain to leave the club in summer, FC Barcelona are being forced to look elsewhere to replace the Brazilian. And the Catalan outfit wants to sign FC Porto right-back Danilo as a replacement of Alves, once their transfer ban gets lifted.
FC Barcelona are currently banned from signing any new player from the market for breaking the rules of FIFA regarding the transfers of under-age players. This ban gets lifted in January 2016, but the Blaugrana management is hopeful of getting it reduced prior to the start of next transfer window. And even if it doesna t get lifted by July of this year, FC Barcelona are certain to make a move for Danilo in January 2016.
The contract of Dani Alves is set to expire in July of this year. The management of FC Barcelona is trying to persuade the Brazilian to extend his stay at the club but the player has made up his mind.
Host of top European clubs, including Manchester United, Juventus and Paris Saint Germain, are vying for the signature of Dani Alves and the player looks increasingly likely to leave FC Barcelona with every passing day.
This situation concerning Dani Alves has forced the FC Barcelona authorities to look elsewhere and FC Portoa s Danilo is on top of their wish list to replace the Brazilian.
And reports coming from Spain have also confirmed the plans of FC Barcelona to replace Dani Alves with Danilo.
Catalan newspaper Sport has claimed in its report that Porto right-back Danilo is Neymar’s friend and Barcelona scouts have filed impressive reviews on him over the last two years. He is currently the club’s top option to replace Dani Alves if he opts to leave Camp Nou.
Danilo became the most expensive defender in the history of Portugal when he signed for FC Porto from Santos for 13 million euros in 2012. Danilo has become an undisputed starter in the starting XI of Porto ever since and apart from FC Barcelona, host of other clubs are interested in signing the Portuguese international.
Meanwhile, the fate of this potential transfer hangs in balance at the moment as FC Barcelona cana t sign any player until January 2016. But the Catalans are hopeful that they can persuade FC Porto to hold on to Danilo until next year.
