Paul Pogba is remains the primary target of FC Barcelona, but, they will move for Real Madrid target Marco Verratti should the bid for the Frenchman fail, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish Media outlet Mundo Deportivo report that FC Barcelona sporting director Ariedo Braida and his Juventus counterpart Beppe Marotta have a deal in place to send Paul Pogba to Catalonia in the summer of 2016.
But the agreement isna t set in stone and if Juventus get a big offer from Paris Saint-Germain or Manchester City, they could sell the Frenchman to either of the clubs, as per the report.
Barcelona Presidential candidate Agusti Benedito had earlier today claimed that Pogba had an agreement in place with PSG and was keen to take it. He said: a Our people had a meeting with Pogba’s people and it was clear he had a proposal of a 12m from PSG and he didn’t want to give it up.”
The news of Paul Pogba considering a move to PSG means Barcelona are now being forced to find an alternative to the France international and, after dismissing reports of signing Ilkay Gundogan, in part because of his wage demands, Verratti is reportedly the second choice if Mundo Deportivo are to be believed.
The PSG player was set for Real Madrid, Mundo Derportivo claim, but the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti, his former PSG coach, put an end to that and could pave the way for move instead to their eternal rivals La Blaugrana.
.
FC Barcelona sporting director Ariedo Braida is a long-time admirer of Marco Verratti and was influential in convincing PSG to sign the ex-Pescara midfielder.
It was reportedly Braida who recommended Verratti to Leonardo, then the PSG sporting director, and Braida is also said to have a good relationship with Verrattia s agent, Donato di Campi as per reports in Mundo Deportivo.
