FC Barcelona sold Alexis Sanchez in the summer but signed Luis Suarez as his replacement. Suarez, along with Messi and Neymar is ahead of Pedro Rodriguez in the pecking order for coach Luis Enrique this season. And the versatile striker has expressed frustration at his current situation at the club.
Pedro Rodriguez, 27, is a product of FC Barcelonaa s famed youth academy La Masia. Expectations were high from Pedro when he made it to the first team under Pep Guardiola. But the striker has so far failed to live up to his early promise at FC Barcelona and is now keen to leave the club in the summer transfer window.
Pedro has made just 12 starts in La Liga for FC Barcelona this term and has suggested that he could be on his way out of Camp Nou.
“I am going through a difficult period,” Pedro Rodriguez told BeIn Sports.
“It is clear that I am having a tough time to find a place in the team at the moment. I have had few chances to play this season.
“I will consider my options in the summer and will then talk with the club to discuss my future.
“But I am focused on FC Barcelona for now and keen to play my part. I must wait for my chance and take it when it comes.”
Meanwhile, another player who is struggling to make into the starting XI of FC Barcelona is Rafinha Alcantara. The youngster is tipped as the next linchpin of FC Barcelonaa s midfield but, unlike Pedro Rodriguez, Rafinha is currently happy with his situation at FC Barcelona.
During his recent interview to the official website of FC Barcelona, Rafinha said that he feels comfortable at the club.
a I’ve been getting better, getting more confidence, and I’d like to get more minutes. I’ll grade myself at the end of the season,a said Rafinha.
a I feel quite comfortable in the team. I’m here to help.
“In order to keep getting minutes on this team you have to constantly be showing what you can do.a
