Deportivo la Coruna earned a precious draw at Camp Nou to avoid the relegation and remain in the La Liga. It was Xavi’s final outing as a FC Barcelona player, and he said after the game that the Blaugrana are the best team in the world.

Xavi Hernandez, who was playing his last La Liga match for FC Barcelona, was the centre of attraction for this game as the Catalan supporters came in huge numbers to pay the tribute to their captain.

FC Barcelona made a dominating start to the game as Leo Messi put them ahead after just 5 minutes. The Blaugrana continued to dominate the game in the entire first half but they failed to score any more goals.

But soon after the start of the second half, Leo Messi doubled his tally to put FC Barcelona ahead by 2-0. It was Messia s 56th goal of the season across all competitions. Deportivo looked certain to get relegate at that time, but they made a strong comeback in the final stages of the game.

Lucas Perez’s 67th-minute goal gave Deportivo a lifeline and they continued to work hard to secure a point. Diogo Salomao came to the rescue of the visitors, who scored a priceless equalizer for Deportivo with 14 minutes to go.

Xavi, who played his final league match for FC Barcelona, gave an emotional speech to the Blaugrana supporters. He said that Barca remains the best club in the world.

a Thank you very much, for today and all these seasons,a said Xavi.

a You do not know how proud I am to be a Barca player, we are the best team in the world whatever they say.a

a I would like to thank my wife, parents, friends, they are amazing. See you in 15 days, this is not over, we want the cup and the Champions League. Visca Bar a and Visca Catalunya!a
