Chelsea FC striker Radamel Falcao’s Premier League woes continue, with the Colombia international suffering a setback during his recovery from a thigh injury, ruling him out of contention for at least the next fortnight
The former Manchester United striker has failed to make an impact in the Premier League thus far, and Chelsea FC’s plans of offloading the Colombian have suffered a blow, with the striker’s thigh injury recurring, raising doubts over whether he will be fit again during the January transfer window.
Falcao’s solitary goal for the Blues came in their 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge, with the 29-year-old only able to play 215 minutes of football in the first half of the Premier League season. While many fans believed the summer loan signing from AS Monaco had already played his last game for the club, his injury setback might force Chelsea FC to shelve their plans of terminating the loan in January.
In his press conference ahead of the trip to Crystal Palace, Hiddink confirmed Falcao’s fresh injury, saying (via Mail Online): “We had him in a game and he had this injury again that he had before, on the inside of his thigh.
“He is back to square one, I think so. He’s in treatment at the moment. He cannot appear on the pitch. He was out and our medical staff tried to build him up, and he had a setback which is not always a positive signal. We hope within 10 days he might be fit again – but not to play.”

Despite bullish words from Jos Mourinho in the summer which had many Chelsea FC fans dreaming of a rejuvenated Radamel Falcao, the Colombian’s time at Stamford Bridge has been miserable, with the former FC Porto hitman failing to have any real impact.
There was talk that the Blues’ style of play was more suited to his game than Manchester United’s, and that Mourinho could get the best out of Falcao, but in a nightmare season for the Stamford Bridge outfit, the striker has not been able to find his feet due to a lack of game time and several niggling injuries.
If possible, there is little doubt that the Blues will try and end Falcao’s loan and bring in a striker in the January transfer window who could genuinely contribute in the second half of the campaign.
