Colombian striker Radamel Falcao has hinted at his imminent move to Chelsea FC, while Oscar is unlikely to move to Juventus this summer.
Since the start of this transfer window reports have suggested that Radamel Falcao will sign for Chelsea on a yearlong loan from AS Monaco. The former Porto striker, who is currently participating in the Copa America, has also hinted at the completion of this move.
Falcao, who was on loan to Manchester United last season, scored just four goals in 29 appearances, as he struggled to regain form after his injury. Lack of goals meant that United passed on the opportunity to sign him permanently for A?43.2m. Chelsea however were in need of new striker following the departure of Didier Drogba and Jose Mourinho is willing to take a gamble on the Colombian international.
The Portuguese manager believes that he can get the best out of Falcao and help him regain his confidence in front of the goal. The fact that the duo shares the same agent also helped in settling this deal. According to reports the London club have reached an agreement with Monaco to sign him on loan and will have the option to sign him for A?35m next summer. Falcao will also have to settle for a reduced wage as Chelsea are unwilling to make him their highest earner in the club.
The announcement of the deal is pending a stringent medical for the 29-year-old forward, who has recently struggled with his fitness. Falcao, who was part of the Colombian team that won against Brazil in the Copa America, was asked after the game about his pending move to Stamford Bridge and the former Atletico Madrid striker hinted that the deal might soon be made official.
“I am just thinking of the Copa America and the squad, my staff are taking care of this.” The striker said.
.
When asked whether the reports of him joining Chelsea are correct, Falcao added: “It can be, you will know soon.”
Falcaoa s arrival might also mean the end of the road for Loic Remy at Chelsea. The Frenchman is keen to play more regularly next season, with the European Championship looming large in the horizon.
Meanwhile, according to Sky Sports, Oscar will not be leaving the club to join Juventus in the summer. The Braziliana s future has come under a lot of speculation this summer, especially with Chelsea being linked to a lot of attacking midfielders. The Serie A giants have been monitoring his situation and Juventus manager, Max Allegri, has even publicly praised Oscar in an interview. But Sky Sports are now reporting that Chelsea and Juventus havena t held any talks regarding this transfer and that the midfielder will extend his stay in London.
