Former Colombia striker Faustino Asprilla , mocked Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal, after the Red Devils lost 1-0 to Southampton. Asprilla, claimed that van Gaal has confused players and Manchester United players, whilst worsened relationships with striker Falcao. Asprilla, mocked van Gaal’s treatment of Falcao. Falcao, joined Manchester United in the last transfer window, on loan from French outfit, Monaco. Falcao, has been poor in his performances thus far and many believe that the cause of this is Louis van Gaal. Falcao, was left out of the match day squad against Southampton and that clearly reflects the fallout between the two. Asprilla, claims that the relationship between the duo is “broken”, and his Falcao, will not stay at Manchester United, if van Gaal, continues to play boss.
“If Van Gaal continues he will leave,” Asprilla told IB Times UK. “I think it is a relationship that has already been broken. Falcao understands that the coach does not want him.
“I remember when I went to Newcastle, Kevin Keegan wanted me. He supported me a lot and here it is obvious that Van Gaal does not trust Falcao.
“It is sad to see how he is treating Falcao. The problem is not Falcao, but the coach. Falcao had an injury earlier in the season, but after he proved that he is still the same top scorer he used to be.
“He played five games and scored goals. But this is all about giving him confidence. After playing well some games it is inexplicable that he suddenly stops playing.
“The truth is that I do not know what Van Gaal is trying to do at United. And I think both players and fans are also confused. He does many changes without reasons.”
Asprilla, also tweeted ““Riquelme, Rivaldo and now Falcao, definitely #VanMaal you are bad with South Americans. @ManUtd need to act #FalcaoaTigerinaCage.”
There have been growing links of unrest between the duo in English media. This has given rise to transfer speculation and Falcao, has been widely linked to clubs such as Juventus. However, Manchester United, have already asserted that they will take a decision on Falcao, come April, but with the current iteration of problems, if Falcao decides to leave Old Trafford, there would be no surprise.
The Monaco striker has scored, three goals in 11 league appearances.
